Look Inside: Flatbush Market - Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY

As promised, our next stop along Flatbush Ave is another greengrocer shop! This one is somewhat larger, at a little over 3,000 square feet.
Refrigerated produce lines one wall of the store, with general grocery on the opposite side.
This Flatbush Market is a very good-looking store, and the produce selection was great. I would shop at a place like this at home if I had one, but I don't.
Plus, the Flatbush Market dedicates a very large space to general grocery items, so you can pick up the staples you need along with lots and lots of produce. Our next stop will be over on The Market Report, actually on the same block as this store but down a few doors.

  1. I'm not sure what those things hanging from the ceiling are; I would've thought light fixtures, but they're not turned on. Whatever they are though, I like them!

    1. Good point, I don't actually know what they are. You may be right about light fixtures, and my only other thought is some sort of HVAC unit. Perhaps a refrigeration unit, as many small stores will keep the whole place at a certain temperature instead of relying on refrigerated cases -- in fact, Food Bazaar will frequently have the meat, produce, and seafood in a separate room that's refrigerated, and that's disguised in the newer remodels, see here: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fkX_txCf9WE/XnfStJWhz5I/AAAAAAAAjG0/wBqD9PpDGEc4RS_riOBJPVrej1seKtEGQCKgBGAsYHg/s1600/IMG_0343.JPG. It's possible a similar unit is or was used here, since the whole store would be the produce.
