I'm a little confused as to this store's relation to the other Super Supermarkets, such as the one we recently revisited in Orange , since it uses a different logo and a different website . The sign we see here, by the way, was recently installed and the store previously had no sign at all . As I mentioned in that post, this was previously a Foodtown but I'm not entirely sure what, if anything, it would've been before that. The 17,000 square foot store faces North 6th Street but is very deep and very narrow, meaning aisles are long and few. I returned to the store in the summer of 2020 to find the renovation fully completed, and the store looks better than ever! (Except the outside, where we're missing the shopping cart and the "s" in "supermarket".) Originally built as an ACME, it later became a Mayfair Foodtown with Super coming into the space in 2003. The Mayfair decor remained until about 2015. Compare this view to how the same area looked in Acme Style's picture here ! Notice that all new flooring has been installed. Looks great! Can any native Haledonians out there tell me how this town's name is pronounced? Is it "Hail-dun" or "Hail-a-dun" or "Hal-a-dun" or "Hal-dun"? (Oh, and by the way, I've learned that my native New Jersey pronunciation of some words is important here. To me, the first syllable of "parents" is not the same sound as "pair," instead being something closer to pahr, a sound that my good friend who's a Baltimore native actually cannot recreate. In most regions of the country, that sound doesn't exist. Another example is that the name Mary and the word marry are two very different sounds.
