Rock Hill Trading Post Owner:  Daniel Resnick Open:  2021 under current ownership Cooperative:  Key Food Stores Location:  214 Rock Hill Dr, Rock Hill, NY Photographed:  February 3, 2021 The Rock Hill Trading Post is a roughly 10,000 square foot combination supermarket, hardware store, and general merchandise store -- basically a modern-day general store. And, as you can tell from the outside picture, it's a Key Food! The store was purchased by the Resnicks, who also owned the Liberty Market and the Apollo Plaza , in 2017. They renovated the store and joined Key Food after they took over, but the general-store feeling is maintained. We enter to produce, with Scrabble tile-inspired signage, in the middle of the store. The supermarket is on one side with the hardware store on the other, and we'll check out both. The hardware store is affiliated with Ace hardware. Liberty Market Owner: Randy Resnick Open:  2020-2023 Cooperative:  Key Food Stores Location:  261 N Main St, Liberty, NY Photographed:  February 3, 2021 Welcome to the town of Liberty! Although not a large city, its population of around 10,000 makes it a larger town in the region. We are here to tour the Liberty Market! This 15,000 square foot store appears to have started out as a Victory Market, later Great American , then Ideal Food Basket , then a Key Food-affiliated independent, Liberty Market from 2020 to 2023. Liberty Market closed in early 2023 , and by the summer, reopened as Lemonade, a kosher supermarket. Lemonade doesn't appear to have done much to the store, which makes sense because Liberty Market did a fair amount before moving in. See a new outside shot here and inside here . Hackensack Market Owner:  Dilip Patel Opened:  by 2000, 2004 under current ownership Cooperative:  Key Food Stores Location:  120 Passaic St, Hackensack, NJ Photographed:  July 23, 2023 and June 4, 2022 Welcome to the Hackensack Market! This store appears to have opened in the 1990s -- although a store called the Hackensack Market had existed near the corner of Main and Passaic, a few blocks east, as far back as 1914 and I'm not sure if there was any relation. But this building at 120 Passaic St was an Oldsmobile dealer until roughly the late 1980s or early 1990s, with the supermarket opening around the end of the 90s. It also appears to have been sold in 2004, which is likely when Universal Food Markets bought the store. Although I'm not sure, the Dilip Patel who I see listed as an owner for this store might be the same person as the Philip Patel who owns the other Universal-affiliated store in town.
