The Independent Edition

Basil Bandwagon Natural Market Owner: Edith Stern Opened:  2012 Cooperative:  none Location:  38 Old Route 22, Clinton, NJ Photographed:  June 2020 Our second independent grocer here in Clinton today is Basil Bandwagon Natural Market, a relatively new natural market just to the east of the center of town (I have a hard time saying "downtown," since it's so small, with around 2800 people in the whole town). Don't forget to see El Quetzal in town here . Today, along with these two independent stores (Basil Bandwagon does also have stores in Flemington and Lambertville), Clinton is served by a Colalillo ShopRite. Unfortunately, I have not been there, but we will see a different Colalillo ShopRite soon. For now, we're staying in Clinton tomorrow for a look at two former supermarkets directly across the street from this store on Grocery Archaeology !

El Quetzal Grocery Store Owner: unknown Opened:  ca. 2014 Cooperative:  none Location:  23 Leigh St, Clinton, NJ Photographed:  November 2019 Contributor:  Alexander We jump into the beautiful small town of Clinton, New Jersey , which has been rated both the quaintest town in New Jersey and one of the best places to live in the state. We're going to be seeing four stores here in town, starting with this small Mexican store in the middle of town. Located (as you can see in the first picture) in some of what was likely a house -- and in fact, we can see some clear signs on the interior that this space was previously residential or at least something else. A friend took these pictures for me when he was in Clinton for another event and thought I'd be interested. Well, of course I was! This looks like an interesting little place. Nice flooring!
